So this book was not what I expected at all. I was honestly just expecting to read about a boy, a ghost girl, and their stories colliding.
Evan has a clingy girlfriend, a busy mother, and a little sister who won't leave him alone.
The story is also told from Cora Royce, who is the young ghost girl who used to live in the house. Her story is told in a sort of poetry way, which a lot people didn't like, but I found myself really enjoying.
I loved reading her thoughts. I also liked knowing about Evan, however, there was always one thing on his mind. Sex. And more sex, sex, having sex with his girlfriend, having sex with girl in his dreams, and sex. He was frustrated just knowing that he and his girlfriend didn't have sex for a week. But maybe that's just how 17-year-old boys think? I don't know. Boys already confuse me.
I did like his honesty though. I liked that he was honest with his girlfriend. From a girls point of view, we all would have called him names. But being able to know what he was feeling and what he was thinking, it all made sense for him to make the decision that he did. That's the great think about reading books right? Right. =D
Cora Royce has a past in that house. Her past collides with Evan in his dreams. I wasn't sure what to think of Cora at some points. I didn't know if she thought Evan was the boy from her past, or if she just really liked staring at him. But we do get to find out what happened to Cora in the end.
I liked this book. I liked it enough to finish it in a few hours. If you like ghost stories that are really short and quick, then you might like this book. This book received a 3 out 5 stars from me.
Now, let enjoys some of Cora's words because they are just lovely.
