October 2014 Wrap-Up!~

Hello everyone! In October I read a total of 16 books, 6 of them being e-books!

So let's see what I read!

 

  The first book I read was

Impulse by Ellen Hopkins.

I expected to LOVE this book, but I didn't. I liked Impulse but I didn't love it like the Crank series.

But, it was still good and the ending made me sad.

 

3 out 5 stars!

   Next is,

Hearts at Stake by Alyxandra Harvey.

I had a lot of problems with this book.

It annoyed me way too much!

Out of nowhere the brother starts liking one of the main protagonist and blah blah blah vampires.

Not the right book for me.

 2 out 5 stars!

 Epic Tales from Adventure Time:

Queen of Rogues by T.T. MacDangereuse

I love Adventure Time, especially Marshall Lee.

So I had to buy this book immediately. 

It was a very funny story and I just love Fionna and Cake and the adventures that they have. 

 4 out 5 stars!

 Another disappointing book this month.

Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink.

This story just went on and on and on. All the characters did was talk, talk, talk.

I got bored and just couldn't understand the point of this book anymore.

2 out 5 stars!

 Here's another one.

Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter.

I was so excited to bring this home and read it.

But I felt like I was lied to.

This is NOT an Alice in Wonderland retelling.

The only similar things are the main character's name being Alice, and that's pretty much it.

I didn't like the main "love" story between the two main characters. It was awful.

This book was just a disappointing no.

 2 out 5 stars!

 The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin.

This book was....okay. I liked it, but that was pretty much it. I'm not sure if it was because it was so hyped, but I didn't love Noah like a lot of people do, and Mara irritated me.

I'm not sure if I'll continue with this trilogy.

 

 3 out of 5 stars!

 A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness.

I never cried so hard like this since reading 

The Book Thief.

I LOVED this book.

The messages, the story, the characters, the heartbreak; everything.

Please read this book.

It's so beautiful and will bring you to tears. 

 5 out of 5 stars!

 Tending to Grace by Kimberly Newton Fusco.

This was a book I remember reading in middle school.

So I decided to re-read it to remember what it was about.

I liked this book. It's an interesting story but nothing amazing.

3 out 5 stars!

The Secret Side Of Empty by Maria A. Andreu.

This was a book that I picked up from the library.

It deals with rich and poor relationships, immigration, and abuse.

I liked this book and it was a nice read.

The relationship got annoying towards the end though. 

 3 out 5 stars!

 Ever After High: The Storybook of Legends

by Shannon Hale.

This book was so amazing! It's definitely one of my favorite fairy-tale retellings.

Ever After High is a school that the next generations of fairy tales attend.

This year is Raven Queen's, daughter of the Evil Queen, year to sign the Storybook of Legends and become the next Evil Queen.

   However, Raven wants a different destiny.

Love, love, love this! I can't wait to read the rest of this series!

 

5 out 5 stars! 

 After that, I immediately read the 6 ebooks from Ever After High.
I loved getting to know the character better from their point-of-views.
If I haven't said it, I really recommend you read Ever After High!
